So I reformatted my computer to get rid of the viruses , and it went pretty smoothly, all except that I require the HDA Audio Bus Driver in order to reinstall Soundmax. I was wondering if anyone can post a link to where I can begin this download, provided it is not a program that repairs all drivers, as I have found those to be inconclusive.

Frankly, based on those strings, i don't think you have High Def audio! In response to suggestion 2, I tried the non-HD version and it was a zipfile. Other then that, there's not much point in my trying to help if you're not going to provide any more useful information.
Well do you know any other audio programs that I can use that don't require an HD audio driver? No need for the attitude, I really don't know what I'm doing. That's kinda why I'm asking for help. Where can I find the info you need?
Do you have a Dell or HP or do you know who made your computer? So I found out that I don't have a sound card. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the sound card the slot on the back of the computer where the speakers plug into? And I have a Dell. Please provide me that dxdiag report. You can also look on your dell for the service tag. Enter your service tag or is also an option to let Dell try and find it for you. They'll tell you the model number and the drivers if need be i'll look at the dxdiag report later when back.

Thought to myself, easy fix. I still believe its a driver issue but it is much deeper than that. So I go to install the audio driver we have for that computer. It tells me there is a newer version already on the computer and to uninstall that version before installing this one. I downloaded the audio driver from dell and tried installing it earlier. I went into Device Manager and right clicked on the Audio Controller with the yellow exclamation and selected update driver. Chose to install from a specific location and selected C: The driver installed and the sound was back after a reboot. This will open up Windows Registry Editor. Try to install your driver again, you should not get the error this time.
